Erdungs­band (earthing strap, earth tape)

• Ein Erdungsband ist ein Stahlband, das im Fundament verlegt ist. Daran werden Steckdosen, Wannen und Rohre angeschlossen. Ein Erdungsband schützt das Gebäude und die Geräte im Haus vor Überspannungs-Schäden und Blitzschlag.
• An earthing strap is a steel tape that is laid in the foundations. Power sockets, tanks and pipes are connected to it. An earthing strap protects the building and the appliances in the house from overvoltage damage and lightning.
